2019 National Talent Development Awards are now open for applications! In order to encourage businesses, organizations and NPOs to showcase their talent development achievements in an innovative way, the Ministry of Labor has launched the Awards, which are divided into 4 categories: large enterprises, small and medium enterprises, government agencies and NPOs. This year, the application deadline is August 20 2019. In addition to a public award ceremony, award winners’ stories will be published in a special case study booklet and on related websites. Since its inception in 2015, the Awards have received more than 400 applications and selected 49 benchmarks, guiding and inspiring talent development in all industries.

According to the Ministry of Labor, the award winners in the past years stood out with their unique and innovative responses to the challenges in talent cultivation and the global competition for talent. For instance, an award winner in 2018, Hotai Motor, has long dedicated itself to establishing a well-rounded talent development system that focuses on every aspect of the company, management and employees. Through a complete occupational competency system, the employees are able to build their own career development plans, helping the company implement their strategies, meet the challenges in the competition and become the leader of the industry for multiple years. Another example is AUO Crystal. It identifies the impact of talent on the company’s sustainability and always puts a top priority on talent when it expands and develops. Its corporate university offers e-learning beyond the limits of time and distance to keep track of learning path and make sure that self-directed learning can continue, establishing a talent-centered performance goal.

Each year through preliminary and secondary reviews, the National Talent Development Awards select 12 winners who have outstanding performance in talent development. The awards aim to use benchmarks to achieve diffusion, facilitate step-by-step talent development in Taiwan, create role models, encourage talent investment trends and enhance Taiwan’s talent development quality. 5 information sessions including experience sharing and consulting services will be held by the Ministry of Labor. All is welcome to participate. More information please go to https://ntda.wda.gov.tw/ or call 02-23660812 ext. 124.
