There is good news for foreigners who work in Taiwan! The Ministry of Labor, in line with the Executive Yuan’s Relief Package 4.0 refined measure, makes more affected workers to receive the assistance!

Since July, 8th 2021, foreigners has Permanent Residence Certificate and Work Permit of Taiwan have been included in the Assured Immediate Employment Program(AIEP), which allows foreigners receive the subsidy through working just like the local citizens to overcome the impact of the epidemic.

 

The Policy is empathetic, fair and civilized.

The AIEP by the Ministry of Labor (MOL) was originally designed to the Citizens whose age above 15 years old, or Foreign/Mainland Chinese (including Hong Kong and Macau) Spouses who are allowed live and work in Taiwan. Considering there is no nationality difference of the epidemic impact. From 8th July 2021, MOL expects to include foreigners who have Taiwan’s Permanent Residence Certificate and Work Permit to the Program, makes them enjoy the same treatment as Taiwan Citizens, demonstrating the fairness and civilization.

According to the statistics, till the end of April 2021, there are more than 12,000 foreigners who have obtained the Permanent Residency and Work Permit of Taiwan. The Ministry of Labor hopes to assist those workers who obtained the Permanent Residency to apply the Program regardless of their nationality as much as possible, to demonstrate Taiwan’s friendliness and fight the epidemic together as a global village.

 

Foreigners who want to apply the Program please give priority to apply it online, or by e-mail, fax, or mail the application form to the authority. If there has any inconvenient of applying through the methods above, please call your nearest Public Employment Service Agency to book an appointment, by turn to deliver the application.
