For the coming Mid-Autumn Festival, the sheltered workshops around Taiwan start to provide a rich diversity of exquisite gifts. The Ministry of Labor, Workforce Development Agency (WDA) sincerely invites people to purchase enthusiastically and support the employment of disabled friends. Moreover, the Agency introduced "Mind point - Seeking the Sincerity Products" App. this year to facilitate searching of sheltered workshops, and purchasing products from sheltered workshops as gifts or personal usages. Such that this Mid-Autumn Festival would be fun and meaningful!
The Director of WDA, Huang Chiu-Kuei, said that these Sheltered Workshops provide a place for long-term employment support for people with physical and mental disabilities who are willing to work but have insufficient employability. There are 141 sheltered workshops in Taiwan. Most of them are selling merchandise, followed by catering, labor services and agronomy. Currently, there are 1,917 physically and mentally handicapped people working there.
